I was just listening to the song "Mountain of the Living God" by Jason Upton, the most influencial singer/songwriter to my walk of faith. We probably hear ALL of his CD's every single day because our iHome is constantly playing when we're home in the day. Anyway, as all of his songs do, this one hit me hard, but his lyrics especially seemed to sum up the state of faith in my life right now.
Mike and I love missions work for so many reasons, one being that we love to watch the hand of God move and faith (including our own) being built up. As we wait for our call to take our family on a long-term missions trip somewhere, we are realizing that our current call of building a business has taken our faith to new levels as we have watched God's hand provide not only our every need, but also bless us with more than enough! I am humbled by God's grace! He has given us so much!
I feel like God is walking us up the mountain of faith so that we can see His beauty more clearly, just like Jason Upton's lyrics(check out the link to hear him sing it--the first song that plays):
Old Man Take My Hand Now
Let Us Walk Together
For Years We Have Labored In Vineyards Apart
The distance Between Us Accounts For The Problem
Oh Suffering How Beautiful You Are
We Have Come To The Mountain
Of The Living God
Take A good Look Around Us
What We See Is What we've Got
There's No Better Day Coming
There's No Brighter Morning Sun
For We Have Come To The Mountain Of The Living God
Old Man Please Forgive Me
For All I've Been Missing
This Life I Was Given
Is Better Than I
Could Ever Have Wanted Or Even Imagined
Forgive Me For Wasting So Much Time
We Have Come To The Mountain
Of The Living God
Take A good Look Around Us
What We See Is What we've Got
There's No Better Day Coming
There's No Brighter Morning Sun
For We Have Come To The Mountain Of The Living God.
